It’s the start to the New Year, and 2018 is already off to a flying start in Division ‘C’ with three games being played, all filled with goals.

Barking picked up their 9th win of the season and continue their march towards the Division title as they thrashed Lowestoft Town 4-0 away. The Division leaders now have an eight point gap between them and second placed Brentwood Town. While Lowestoft pick up their 9th defeat of the season, this isn’t the start to the year they wanted and would like to add a few more points to the board before the season comes to an end.

It was a battle between 2nd and 3rd in the Division and the points were shared as Brightlingsea Regent held Brentwood Town to a 3-3 draw. Its Brentwood’s second draw of the campaign and doesn’t help them get any closer to runaway leaders Barking. Regent sit a point behind Brentwood and the battle for 2nd place heats up as Regent breathe down the Brentwood necks.

The final game this week saw Bishop’s Stortford comfortably beat Ipswich Wanderers 4-1 away. After a slow start to the season, Stortford now find themselves some form as they climb to 4th in the Division, one point behind Brightlingsea. However its another miserable day for Ipswich as they receive their 9th loss of the season.

One game was postponed as Norwich City RDP were to take on AFC Sudbury however due to a waterlogged pitch, the match could not take place.

All 10 teams in the Division are due to play next week, as Barking look to extend their lead at the top of the Division as they host Ipswich Wanderers. Brentwood Town look to come back from this weeks set back as they travel to 7th placed AFC Sudbury. It’s a match between 3rd and 4th as Brightlingsea Regent go to Bishop’s Stortford, a match which could see Stortford overtake Regent if they are victorious. Norwich City RDP look to get their 2018 up and running properly as they take on 6th placed Maldon & Tiptree at home. Finally, last placed Lowestoft Town will want nothing more than victory, but they travel to 5th placed Boreham Wood Whites, who are 12 points ahead of them.
