A low scoring week in Division ‘C’ as one team
falls to just their first defeat of the season as three games were played.
Brightlingsea Regent became the first team this
season to beat leaders Barking as the 2nd placed team came out 1-0 winners.
Barking were on a fantastic run, winning 10 games this season and only only
dropping 2 points in a draw against Norwich City RDP, but now have their first
loss of the season thanks to Regent. It’s now Regent’s sixth victory of the
season and the win only inches them closer to Barking at the top of the table,
but there is still a nine point gap between the two sides.
Meanwhile, Maldon & Tiptree were only good
enough for a 1-1 draw against AFC Sudbury. Both sides received their second
draw of the season and the result doesn’t do each side any favours. Maldon
& Tiptree stay 7th in the Division, three points off of Boreham Wood
Whites, as for Sudbury, they remain 5th and are also three points off their
next placed rivals, 4th placed Brentwood Town.
Next, Ipswich Wanderers gained another point as
they breath down the necks of Norwich City RDP as they drew 0-0 to Boreham Wood
Whites. It was Ipswich’s first draw of the season and it helps them keep in
touch with their East Anglian rivals, who are two points ahead. The win however
for the Whites would of took them Sudbury in the league, but the draw has left
them level on points, with both sides on 17 points.
There was one postponed game this week, as last
placed Lowestoft Town were due to play Norwich City RDP.
All teams from the Division will play next week,
as leaders Barking look to return to winning ways as they face Brentwood Town
at home. While Brightlingsea Regent look to build on their impressive win as
they travel to Boreham Wood Whites. AFC Sudbury will play host to Bishop’s
Stortford, with both teams vying for a win as they look for a top three finish.
Maldon & Tiptree will take on Lowestoft Town, will this be the week that
Lowestoft pick up their first win of the season. Finally, its the East Anglian
derby in the Division as Norwich City RDP go head to head against Ipswich
Wanderers, can the Canaries pick up a vital three points or will the Tractor
Boys peg them back?
