The Beast from the East has passed, the snows thawed out and the National League U19 Alliance returned to action this week as eight teams from Division ‘C’ took to the pitch.

Top of the table Barking fell to their second defeat of the season as they lost 3-4 to mid-table AFC Sudbury. Barking have been top dog all season but are now starting to show cracks, their first loss came at the hands of Brightlingsea Regent back in January, so could there be a shock as the season draws to a close? As for Sudbury, its a good win and keeps them firmly in mid-table, however they sit seven points off 4th placed Bishop’s Stortford.

Brightlingsea Regent were the biggest winners of the week, as they bested Maldon & Tiptree 1-8 away from home. It’s was a huge win for Regent as they continue to chase for the Division title. With Barking slipping up this week, Regent find themselves four points off them, could we see a late title charge? For Maldon & Tiptree, they slipped to their seventh defeat of the season and sit three points off Boreham Wood Whites and Sudbury.

Bishop’s Stortford go from strength to strength as they beat Boreham Wood Whites 1-4 away from home. Goals from Chad Cruse, Dan Pinkney and two from Sami Shulton were enough to secure Stortford the points and they’re eighth consecutive win. It’s their ninth win of the season as they also push for the title, and they’re one point off of Brightlingsea Regent who are in 2nd. However for Boreham Wood Whites, like Sudbury, they also sit in mid-table with very little to play for.

Finally, Brentwood Town overcame Norwich City RDP as they won 1-3 away. Brentwood are another team going for the title and sit on 27 points, like Stortford. Can they keep up the pressure? Unfortunately for Norwich, they fall to their ninth defeat of the season and are five points off Maldon & Tiptree.

One game didn’t play this week as Lowestoft Town were due to play Ipswich Wanderers, however the match was postponed.

Next week, Barking look to get back to winning ways as they take on Boreham Wood Whites. Fourth placed Stortford look to make it 10 wins on the bounce as they host Norwich City RDP. Brentwood Town look to continue their impressive form of late as they Maldon & Tiptree. Title chasers Brightlingsea Regent welcome Lowestoft Town and finally Ipswich Wanderers will go head to head against AFC Sudbury.
