The third round draw, which was staged at Wembley Stadium, featured 32 teams, with three different pots assigned geographically to determine the sides playing each other.

Pot 1, named the North Midlandís pot, consisted of 14 teams, pot 2 named the Hampshire/ South-West pot, had 8 teams and pot 3, named the South-East pot, had 10 teams.
